[...]* "Da alcune settimane ho ripreso a compiere un piccolo gesto quotidiano: postare sul mio profilo Facebook video girati direttamente da chi la guerra la vive in diretta filmandola con il proprio cellulare. In YouTube se ne trovano migliaia. Non importa se a realizzarli siano militari fedeli al regime, ribelli con ancora l'ideale alto di una Siria democratica, bande di criminali organizzati o cittadini inermi: quello che mi importa è, nel mio piccolo, porre l'attenzione su quanto avviene ogni giorno laggiù mentre i leader e l'opinione pubblica occidentale sembra che abbiano messo il cuore in pace dopo la promessa di Assad di consegnare i gas chimici. I video spesso sono molto violenti, al limite della sopportazione, sono rozzi, di scarsa qualità ma è realtà in presa diretta, senza filtri, interpretazioni, tagli, aggiustamenti. A parte rarissimi casi la reazione dei miei "amici" in Facebook è di indifferenza totale. O almeno così la interpreto io. L'indifferenza sarà al centro della performance. Non svelo altro." |

On YouTube you can find thousands of them. It does not matter if they are realized by soldiers loyal to the regime, by the rebels who still have a high ideal of a democratic Syria, by gangs of organized criminals or by innocent citizens: what matters to me is to focus attention, in my own small way, on what is happening there everyday, while leaders and Western public opinion seem to have stopped worrying after Assad's promise to deliver his chemical gases. Those videos are often very violent , to the limit of endurance, rough, and shotted in low quality, but it's actually live, unfiltered, without interpretations, cuts and adjustments. Apart from rare cases, the reaction of my "friends" on Facebook is total indifference. Or that's they way I interpreted it. Indifference will be the focus of the performance.
